de Havilland Mosquito
The Mosquito was developed by de Havilland in the United Kingdom. It was a two-person multi-role combat aircraft that was used in bombing, reconnaissance, open air combat, target marking, and transport. Production of the de Havilland Mosquito began in 1941 and by 1942 these planes were seeing widespread use in the war. Mosquitos were made almost entirely of wood, which made them light weight and one of the fastest planes in the world at the time they were developed.
