Supermarine Stranraer

The Supermarine Stranraer was developed by the Supermarine Aviation Works company in the 1930s for use by the Royal Air Force. These aircrafts were capable of landing on and taking off from water, and were used in anti-submarine and convoy escort patrols. The Stranraer was also produce in Canada by the Canadian Vickers company in Montreal, which built forty Stranraers for use by the Royal Canadian Air Force. British Stranraers were taken out of active service in 1941 but continued to be used in training exercises while Canadian Stranraers saw active service until 1946.
